Keta Brown

Keta is Co-Founder of The Oakland REACH and serves as a Family Success Coach. Family Success Coaches are the REACH’s “secret sauce.” They are the mamas, aunties, and caregivers in the community who support student’s academic success and parent’s socio-economic well-being. Keta is also Co-Chair of Community Engagement for #OaklandUndivided campaign, a Board member of Yu Ming and a member of the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Equity Enrollment Working Group. She was born and raised in Oakland, attending Oakland Public schools and graduating from Oakland Technical High school. Keta is the proud mother of four children. She wakes up every day fired up to support The Oakland REACH because the system has failed so many of her family members, and she will not let it fail any more children. Keta was recently nominated and selected by East Oakland community leaders as a member of the 10-Year Plan Steering Committee, led by the nonprofit Oakland Thrives which will help to allocate $100,000 in funding to support the growth of Oaklanders.
