Unlocking the Future through the Liberator Fellowship
When you invite parents and caregivers off the sidelines, meaningful work happens. That's what we witnessed during our Liberator Fellowship orientation earlier this summer!
For the first time, we brought our Literacy Liberators and Math Liberators together, representing our twofold effort to improve academic outcomes for children across Oakland.
I'm grateful for this level of collaboration between our REACH team and our Oakland Unified School District central academic team partners, Edgar Rodriguez-Ramirez, Alicia Arenas, and Romy Trigg-Smith. This kind of collective leadership and authentic partnership is how we build bold, innovative solutions.
Our Liberators will ensure that more students can access high-quality tutoring to become strong readers and mathematicians. In the words of one of the participants of our very first fellowship, "If you can think it, you can believe it, then you can be it."
