Family Sustainability Center: Off-the-Charts Attendance

Our Family Sustainability Center (FSC) is a key component of the Hub, providing both academic and socio-economic resources and workshops for families to not just survive the pandemic, but to actually get ahead. And our programming this fall has been a huge hit already, with off-the-charts attendance at all of our workshops. We cover everything from Zoom basics, to credit scores, to scheduling, and giving and receiving feedback.

This past week we had a Financial Awareness Workshop that more than 70 parents attended! We also held a session on “flipping the script on parent teacher conferences” where we worked with parents on how to best advocate for their kids in these upcoming meetings.

We also launched Wednesday Open Tech Hours and Evening Workshops with our partner Sydewayz Cafe. Parents can access real-time tech support every Wednesday at lunch time, and attend evening sessions on topics like Gmail, Zoom, and calendars.

With ~80+ parents showing up to every one of these workshops, we are clearly filling a huge demand and desire for support - and the feedback from our parents has been incredible.
